Responsibility and efficiency at the tool manufacturer JOKARI

At JOKARI, the responsible use of energy and resources is central to our business processes. We rely on technical solutions that ensure a stable supply and efficient operations.

A look at the history: Environmental awareness at JOKARI

In the 1980s, JOKARI's plastic injection molding plant was built. A new hall was constructed, and a large water reservoir was installed beneath it. This can be imagined as an underground pool, the water from which was intended to cool the plastic injection molding machines. But this wasn't enough for our company founder, Josef Krampe; he also wanted to effectively utilize the waste heat generated. So he connected the company's heating system and that of his adjacent house to this water reservoir. This allowed him to efficiently use the waste heat for heating.

From stories told by former colleagues, we know that from that point on, at least one of the plastic injection molding machines always had to be running, even on Christmas holidays. "Otherwise, it would have been cold at Grandpa's house on Christmas," his granddaughter and current managing partner, Andrea Bünnigmann, tells us with a smile. Today, she lives in that house herself, but the heating systems are now separate. However, the waste heat continues to be used in the company to this day.

Energy supply and building technology

We generate electricity using solar energy via solar panels located on our production roofs. Heat pumps and geothermal systems are used for cooling and heating the production and office spaces. These technologies ensure a consistent temperature and contribute to reliable operation.

Well-designed packaging solutions

The packaging for our products is designed to be sturdy and functional. We pay close attention to the design, ensuring safe transport and storage while also providing an appealing appearance. JOKARI is part of the dual system "Der Grüne Punkt" (The Green Dot), thus supporting the orderly return of recyclable materials to the material cycle. Our hinged blister pack is made from recycled material and contains an insert made of FSC®-certified paper. The folding carton, made of FSC®-certified cardboard, is fully recyclable and reliably protects the products during transport and storage.
