    Changes in cable regulations. Lead and sheet metal sheaths were no longer used in cable production, as they placed a great strain on electrical installers during installation. Furthermore, the risk of damage occurring when exposing the inner conductors was very high. In practice, every second or third stripping was faulty and had to be redone. This resulted in enormous material waste.

    Instead, cables with plastic sheathing were introduced. These changed cable types also required new processing tools. Josef Krampe now had an idea for how to quickly and safely strip these plastic-sheathed cables using a cable knife. The JOKARI Cable Knife was born.

    The invention of the new cable cutter was presented to numerous well-known companies. However, Josef Krampe found no interested parties willing to include the tool in their product range.

    The tool was presented with great success at the Hanover Trade Fair. Suddenly, there were interested parties who recognized the significance of the invention, immediately integrated the JOKARI cable knife into their tool range, and boosted sales. Josef Krampe now found a gap in cable processing and simultaneously invented other stripping tools, such as strippers and pliers.

    Expansion of the sales network by acquiring national and international customers. Driven by success and expanded market knowledge, additional tools were invented and successfully launched. The internal box strippers, in particular, play an important role in electrical installation technology. Along with the cable cutter, these tools are now pillars of fast and safe cable processing in industry and trade.

    Angela Merkel visits JOKARI. On a tour through the Münsterland region, she stops at JOKARI to view the production facility. The reason for this is JOKARI's social responsibility, which involves some preliminary stages of production being carried out in charitable institutions.

    In February 2020, JOKARI hosted its first Influencer Day and invited selected influencers. The behind-the-scenes look also focused on the production of the 100% Made in Germany stripping tools.

    With the Super 4 Pro, JOKARI is launching an extremely durable wire stripper. Thanks to the upgrade to the AS-Interface Pro, JOKARI offers the answer to the changing needs of AS-Interface cable processing.

    Due to the coronavirus pandemic, production processes and shift schedules were adjusted, and all hygiene and safety measures were implemented and implemented immediately. A large portion of the administrative staff shifted their workplaces to home offices.

    After more than a year and a half of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, we're finally returning to the trade fair scene this November with Productronica in Munich. The new JOKARI booth was used for the first time.

    The new PV-Strip stripper simplifies the processing of solar cables and is designed for advanced PV cables and the most common connector types. With this product, JOKARI responds to the repeated requests of numerous users.

Since 1969, the JOKARI name has stood worldwide for high-quality stripping tools "100% Made in Germany." Now owner-managed for three generations, we are now successfully positioned on the international market. But we, too, started small. The roots of JOKARI GmbH & Co. KG lie in an electrical and hi-fi store. The Krampe couple founded the business back in 1949. This gave them a firsthand insight into the wishes and needs of their customers in the electrical sector every day – and Josef Krampe also saw in which areas technology still needed improvement.

On this basis, the clever master electrician invented the revolutionary and patented JOKARI knife a few years later, which made the previously laborious process of stripping cables much easier. The knife's resounding success encouraged Josef Krampe to start producing stripping tools alongside his electrical business. Over the years, the former craft business has become a nationally and internationally successful industrial company. We operate worldwide and have a functioning international distribution network for our tools. We are constantly expanding our product range, implementing innovative ideas, and thus, day after day, asserting our position as a specialist for precision tools in stripping and dismantling technology.
