How to properly strip H07BQ-F PUR cables: This is how to do it safely and cleanly

PUR-sheathed cables like H07BQ-F 3×1.5 are among the most robust and demanding cable types regularly used in electrical work. They require particular care during stripping, as errors in this step can later lead to cable damage or broken conductors.

Why H07BQ-F can be a challenge

H07BQ F cable features a highly durable PUR sheath. Inside are finely stranded copper conductors that are sensitive to excessively deep or uncontrolled cutting. If the outer sheath is damaged during stripping, or even if the conductors are nicked, this often leads to breakage later on due to movement – a typical problem with highly flexible cables. Here's how to proceed step by step

1. Circular cut with finesse

2. Break open the cable sheath
After the circular cut, open the cable stripper, reposition it a little further towards the cable end close to the previous cut and cleanly break open the remaining sheath.

3. Precisely strip the inner conductor
