A brilliant idea turns 60
The foundation was laid by JOKARI founder and master electrician Josef Krampe, who developed the JOKARI Knife in 1966 and subsequently patented it. His invention revolutionized the previously tedious process of stripping cables and has had a lasting impact on the industry. "The ingenious basic idea has proven itself millions of times over to this day. Electricians around the globe work safely and efficiently with a Cable Knife every day. We would like to celebrate this milestone and invite everyone to join us," explains Managing Director Frank J. Goebbels.
Anniversary events at the International Hardware Fair and Light + Building
JOKARI invites visitors to its booth at the International Hardware Fair (Hall 10.1, Booth H-010-J011) and Light + Building (Hall 12, Booth E90) to celebrate the anniversary in style. To say thank you, JOKARI has put together a special anniversary package:

The anniversary will also be celebrated digitally: Several well-known content creators will be covering the events on their social media channels and inviting their communities to exclusive meet-and-greets directly at the JOKARI booth.
Premiere for the new booth concept
To mark its anniversary, JOKARI is unveiling its completely redesigned booth at Light + Building. The modern, technically oriented design features striking LED accents and focus panels that perfectly showcase the product innovations through a clear design language and high-quality materials. Guided by the principle of interaction, an integrated workbench invites visitors to test the tools directly on-site using a variety of cable types.
With its appearance at Light + Building 2026, JOKARI is kicking off an anniversary year full of activities – and simultaneously looking back on six decades of innovation in cable cutting.
